St. Lucie Kiriri Girls’ Secondary School is the brainchild of Mary and Paul Ndarua. They were educated in catholic Mission Schools and Colleges. This helped develop their firm Catholic beliefs and practices. St. Lucie, a boarding school opened its doors to the first students on the 26th of February in 1992.
The school is founded on the Christian concept of a family, where all its members are united, to work for the common good of each other guided by God’s love. The school receives the students at adolescence and embraces them with Christian love and understanding. Consequently, the young ladies leave with a religious character ready to take up future responsibilities.
Mary and Paul Ndarua combined their skills to successfully set up and run the school. Dr. Paul Ndarua being an architect and having a background in construction begun building the First Phase of the school in August 1991 in readiness for the start of the school year on the 26th February 1992. The school began with Seven [7] students in the first Form 1 class.
Mrs. Mary Ndarua a seasoned Agriculturalist has from the inception of the school-supplied very high-quality food products through the years and is the organizer of the famous school menu which remains as one of St. Lucie’s School’s main attributes and flagship gems.
KEY DATES
Phase 1 of the construction was complete on 10th February 1992 and the school Officially Opened its doors on Monday 26th February 1992 -the school begun with 7 students.
Phase 2 of the Construction commenced immediately after opening the school doors which saw the construction of the school dispensary, more school laboratories, additional classrooms& dormitories, the underground water tank, 24-hour water supply bore-hole was also sunk during this phase.
Phase 3 commenced in 1993 with heavy investments of the staff quarters, Teachers’ staff quarters & the school fields. The state-of-the-art School Chapel broke ground on the 6th November 1993 [the foundation stone was blessed and laid by HIS grace, the Archbishop John Njenga. St. Lucie Chapel was opened and blessed by His Eminence Maurice Michael Cardinal Otunga Archbishop of Nairobi on the 30th July 1995. The Chapel Seats majestically as the beacon of what the school centrally believes in, our Christian faith.

Construction of the school began in August 1991 which took seven [7] months to construct the First Phase. The first buildings built were the Administration building, 1 classroom on ground level, one dormitory, the dining hall & kitchen, the matron’s house, and one [1] science laboratory – all to the highest standards. |

School opens its doors with seven [7] students offering 844, GCE and IGCSE curricular. |

March 1992 -1993 |
