Guidance and counseling are important for the students at St. Lucie Kiriri Girls Secondary School, and the school has a huge role in bringing out the best in the girls. Good conduct is coveted, but sometimes young minds need guidance to polish their personality. With regular guidance and counseling sessions, teachers give the desired focus to every student. Continuous interaction with the girls ensures trust is built between teacher and student. Counseling sessions are a gradual process to mold and redirect children for a brighter future.
The school offers spiritual counseling with the assistance of both the Christian Union and the Young Catholic Association (Y. C.S) whereby students hold regular prayers with the help of the school chaplain.
In addition to counseling sessions, the counseling and guidance office also involves career guidance, where the students are advised on the selection of courses and different career paths. It’s important to prepare them for life after school and what to expect in the different fields they might opt for. This ensures they are equipped with the latest career trends and educates them about a changing world.
Along with academic and career development, social and personal development is also encouraged and taught. Students are encouraged to acquire knowledge, attitudes, and interpersonal skills to set their own goals, make their own decision, and take necessary decisions to achieve those goals. This shapes the girl’s decision-making and making the process by developing their interpersonal skills. It induces teamwork and leadership qualities.
