Offering students, the opportunity to harness their artistic skills, our Art Department provides for drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, photography, fabric, and screen printing. Alongside the day-to-day lessons, there are a variety of art and photography activities, with trips outside of school to capture the wonders of Kenya on screen, paper, or as a still image in photography.
Photography has become an increasingly popular art among our young generation. They explore their God-given talents by capturing beautiful sceneries, with different light apertures all part of capturing this with a camera, usually via a digital sensor or film, to create an image. With the right camera equipment, you can even photograph wavelengths of light invisible to the human eye, including UV, infrared, and radio.
The photography club involves visiting various landscapes in natural settings, photography of still and moving art. Photography has increasingly become an income-generating skill in today’s works, hence we encourage our girls to take up new hobbies and explore various talents and gifts that they may have harnessed inside of them.
